Avenged Sevenfold (aka A7X) formed in 1999 in Orange County, California, and ever since, have become a world reference for Metal in the new millennium. This new tour will give us the chance to see group’s new drummer, Arin Ilejay, who also appears for the first time on the new disc. It’s a tough role for Arin to take on following the death at the end of 2009 of the much adored Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan. As well as Arin, Avenged also consists of M. Shadows, Zacky Vengeance, Synyster Gates and Johnny Christ.
Their debut album “Sounding the Seventh Trumpet” (1999) was recorded when the band members were barely 18 years. Bassist Johnny Christ joined in time for the second album, “Waking the Fallen” (2003) which would open the doors to the Vans Warped Tour 2004 and lead to their signing for Warner Bros Records. “City of Evil”, two years later, garnered two gold discs and contained the well known track “Bat Country”, which would soon become a fans’ favourite. The album was deemed one of the 100 best in history according to Guitar World Magazine in October 2006. The sudden success of “City of Evil” lead to the band headlining at Ozzfest in 2006 and just a year later they released their next album “Avenged Sevenfold”, which was an immediate success, reaching number 4 in the Billboard 200 as well as being named album of the year by Kerrang magazine. Later, on 17th November 2007, it reached the number one spot on the Billboard Rock Albums, Billboard Alternative Albums and Billboard Hard Rock Albums charts.
Their latest release, “Nightmare” came out in 2010 and headed for the top of the charts worldwide, debuting at number 1 on the Billboard 200, and scooping up all imaginable awards over the following months. Their sixth album "Hail To The King" was released on August and was one of the most eagerly awaited of recent years with a taster having been released last year on the Call of Duty video game. The Californians also appeared on the soundtrack for “Black Ops 2”, the latest instalment in the popular saga with their track “Carry On”. On top of that, the band appears in the story of the game as characters that interact with the protagonists.
The evening will also count on the appearance of one of the most highly acclaimed metal bands around who will be playing for the first time in Spain. Five Finger Death Punch who formed in Los Angeles in 2005 has released 3 albums to date achieving gold disc status in the US with each selling in excess of 500,000. “The Way of The Fist” (2007), “War Is the Answer” (2009) and “American Capitalist” (2011) made their name and they are currently one of the bands with most radio plays on rock radio. In 2013 they release two new studio discs simultaneously, one of the big metal events of the year. The first "The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell" was released on 23rd July with the second appeared on November 19th, just prior to their arrival on these shores in the company of A7X.
Each night will be opened with Avatar, which present “Black Waltz”. A new album that is introduced with the single “Let it burn”, remixed by Johnny K (Megadeth, Staind, Disturbed). Moved from the darkness, they have always stood for relentlessness and determination that has led them to recruit a large legion of followers. They play the soundtrack to the end of world and give you the greatest show of the apocalypse. Avatar have toured around Europe with bands like Megadeth, Helloween, Stone Sour or In Flames, and now is Avenged Sevenfold’s turn.
Without any doubt, we are looking forward to what is sure to be the Metal event of 2013.
