One of the greatest soul voices of our days, Joss Stone, will return to Spain next summer. Joss Stone has plans for a world tour that visits every single country, to play on the whole world, and will release a documental film when the adventure ends. The city choosen in our country is Barcelona, where we will see her live on July 17th at Bikini.
Her debut on musical scene arrives when she was just 16 years old. Her first album, ‘The Soul Sessions’, puts Stone on the map with a nonstop career that gets back the soul music. Anthemic tunes such as 'Super Duper Love' and 'Dirty Man' displayed vocals far beyond her years while kicking off a music revolution that sparked a new interest in female artists with cracking vocals. Soul legends Aretha Franklin and Gladys Knight were the references on her beginnings.
Joss Stone has sold over 11 million albums to date, has been nominated to Grammy Awards four times, including the collaboration with Jeff Beck on 'I Put A Spell On You', and earned two Brit Awards in 2005. Stone's popularity grew through a series of memorable live performances with the likes of James Brown, Gladys Knight, Solomon Burke, Blondie, Smokey Robinson and Melissa Etheridge among many others. She’s contributed to albums by Jeff Beck and Ringo Starr, played the Super Bowl pre-game show in 2006, performed on the Grammy’s and indeed won a Grammy herself! In 2007 arrives Stone’s third album, 'Introducing Joss Stone', which crashed into the US charts at No.2, marking the highest debut ever for a female British solo artist on the Billboard charts.
Joss released in 2009 her fourth album 'Colour Me Free'. It was a perfect combination of pop, soul, R&B, funk, hip-hop and gospel sounds. Recorded in a matter of weeks at her Mum’s club in Devon, it was the final big-label contribution from the singer. The album was co-produced by the same Joss Stone along with Jonathan Shorten and Conner Reeves, whose collaborated also in Stone’s second record, 2004’s 'Mind Body & Soul', with a UK Top 10 single 'You Had Me'.
On the last three years Joss Stone has released two studio albums, 'LP1', published by her own record label, Stone’d Records, and 'The Soul Sessions Volume 2'. 10 years on from the stunning debut sessions, Joss decided to bring things full circle and revisit where it all began. She followed her multi-million selling debut with this second volume.
