The Drums surprised us by first time when they came to Spain to present their first album in 2010. Their shows were so aniticipated, that even increasing venues capacity the sold out was written, so it doesn’t surprise us to see that the phenomenon has kept on growing since then. In 2011 the band launched Portamento, and now the story continues with Encyclopedia, their forthcoming new studio album, introduced by “Magic Mountain”.
The Drums’ intense career could be summarized by something like…In 2009 a new band that nobody had ever heard of shooked the indie scene with a debut EP. The Drums caught the attention of half the world with Summertime!. "Let's Go Surfing" was the first single they released and many considered it "the most infectious whistling from Peter, Bjorn and John." The NME described them as "the coolest band in New York", while they began to sound on the radio from all over Europe. At breathtaking speed, their first album came in 2010 with singles as amazing as "Forever And Ever Amen", "Me And The Moon", "Skippin Town" or "Book Of Stories". The album sold over 200,000 copies and found the band touring relentlessly, playing triumphant sold out gigs worldwide throughout 2010 and 2011. Now, 2014 promises to bring us the best The Drums, with a brand new record that will be on sale in Spain from late September.
