Kamasi Washington
The American artist Kamasi Washington will present his upcoming album, Fearless Movement, on March 23 at Razzmatazz in Barcelona, as part of the Barcelona Jazz Festival, and on March 24 at La Riviera in Madrid.
Tickets for both concerts of this tour - a co-production between Houston Party and Doctor Music - are already on sale via doctormusic.com (*), entradas.com, and houstonpartymusic.com. The price is 38 Euros (VAT included, booking fees not included).
The Californian saxophonist released Fearless Movement last May 3. When speaking about his new album, Kamasi explains: "It's my dance album, but it’s not literal. Dance is movement and expression, and in a way it's the same as music: expressing your spirit through your body. That's what this album is pushing." In this sense, dance as a form of expression signals a real shift in focus for Washington. While his previous albums dealt with cosmic ideas and existential concepts, Fearless Movement focuses on the everyday, on an exploration of life at ground level.
