Indie-folk band from Seattle The Head And The Heart announce today a show in Madrid (Moby Dick) on September 22nd. It will be their first visit to Spain, with the aim to present live their third studio album, Signs Of Light, which includes great songs such as "All We Ever Knew", with 8 weeks at #1 in Billboard’s Adult Alternative Songs.
The Head And The Heart was formed in Seattle in 2009 by Jonathan Russell and Josiah Johnson, both responsible of vocals and lead guitars. They will be joined by Charity Rose (violin, banjo and vocals), Chris Zasche (bass), Kenny Hensley (piano) and Tyler Williams (percussion). The band enjoy a fine reputation among critics with their two previous works, the acclaimed self-titled debut (self-released in 2011) sold at concerts and in local record stores, and Let's Be Still, released in 2013 by the independent label Subpop. The originality of The Head And The Heart lies mainly in the fusion of vocal harmonies with sublime melodies of piano, violin, banjo, combined with more traditional instruments and eminent percussion. Also stand out their lyrics, fascinating and full of meaning.
Recorded in Nashville with producer Jay Joyce (Eric Church, Cage The Elephant), Signs Of Light crackles with the upbeat, sing-a-long energy of The Head And The Heart’s finest work. Lead single “All We Ever Knew,” which was written during the Let’s Be Still era but never captured to the band’s satisfaction until now, is sure to be a crowd-pleaser, while “Turn It Around” seems primed to be a future concert staple, matching its inspirational message with a lush and multi-layered soundscape.
