The Wild Feathers are a truly American band: their music takes elements of the best of rock, country, folk and blues music and reshapes it in a way that is both unique and modern. Their self-titled debut album, released late in 2013, debuted at #1 on Billboard's Heatseekers Album Chart. Produced by Jay Joyce (Cage The Elephant, The Wallflowers, Emmylou Harris) was recorded almost live with the whole band playing in the studio, resulting an album full of talent, pure American rock & roll and vocal harmonies, with folk influences but filtered under the weight of a distortion pedal as displayed in songs like “The Ceiling”, “Got It Wrong” or “Hard Wind”.
The band was formed in Austin in 2010 by pure coincidence, mutual friends and shared admiration for classics like Tom Petty, Johnny Cash, Eagles, The Band, Gram Parsons and Neil Young. As well as more modern names such as The Black Keys and Mumford & Sons which are listed as references to their sound and their songs by most critics who have acclaimed their first work.
Over the last year, the band has toured the world presenting live songs from their debut, performing in renowned festivals like SXSW, Bonaroo or Firefly. Over the next few weeks before their next tour in our country, The Wild Feathers will share the stage with Willie Nelson in Tennessee and Sheryl Crow in Colorado. Furthermore the band has just confirmed their performances at festivals Live On The Green (Nashville) and Voodoo Music Experience (New Orleans).
