Sigur Rós announce the final dates of their epic world tour that sees them collaborating with local 41-piece orchestras, bringing their latest album ÁTTA to life alongside favourites from their extensive catalogue. The last leg of the tour will begin in Edinburgh on August 31, 2026 and take in dates across Scotland, Northern Ireland, Ireland, France, Spain and Portugal, before wrapping with two shows in Berlin. We’ll see them on September 11 at the Auditori Fòrum CCIB in Barcelona and on September 15 at the Palacio Euskalduna in Bilbao. In Barcelona, they will be accompanied by the Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès, and in Bilbao, by the Bilbao Orkestra Sinfonikoa.
Tickets for the shows in Barcelona and Bilbao will go on sale this Friday, March 20 at 10:00 am. For Barcelona via doctormusic.com (*) and entradas.com, and for Bilbao at doctormusic.com (*) and euskalduna.eus. The prices will go from 64.40 Euros and 178.25 Euros for Barcelona and for Bilbao from 82.50 Euros and 170.50 Euros (VAT and booking fees included). The new shows will be the last chance for fans to see this unique performance from Sigur Rós in collaboration with conductor Robert Ames and local orchestras, making these dates another important milestone in their career. The tour has already seen them playing in some of the world's most iconic orchestral venues, including London’s Royal Albert Hall, Rome’s Sala Santa Cecilia, Paris’ Salle Playel, Brussels’ Bozar, Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City and the Konzerthaus in Vienna; and collaborated with, amongst others, the London Contemporary Orchestra (LCO), the Wordless Music Orchestra, the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, Taiwan National Symphony Orchestra, Resound Collective, Brisbane Philharmonic, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and more.
The band’s Kjartan Sveinsson says: "We’re excited to be going back to the orchestral shows in September. It is always very special to sit in the middle of an orchestra surrounded by all these fantastic players we have played with the past four years. Thanks to everyone that has come to our shows, all the players, the crew and a special thanks to our conductor and arranger Rob Ames and our main arranger María Huld Markan Sigfúsdóttir."
